Georgia Ports - Event Presentation

Carousel brought me on to help design a ton of custom content for an event presentation for the Georgia Ports Authority. Graphs, maps, and custom 3D graphics with “pause points” made up a 70+ slide presentation for an event of 250+ people.
Our biggest challenge was being prepared for any content coming our way, and finding engaging ways to present information while still being flexible enough for updates! While designing backgrounds and full-screen templates could get us pretty far, many of the graphics fell into the “specialty” or “custom 3D infographic” category. Here, getting a close-enough look straight out of Redshift (without the need for heavy compositing) allowed us to roll with the punches and utilize some of the 3D models we had access to.
From a design standpoint, my biggest challenge was balancing the request for complexity in look vs. content readability, and incorporating a “Star Wars-y” and “futuristic” feel while not straying too far from existing content and branding. I also needed to balance how much to rig or “templatize” for faster updates down the road, considering that content changes and pivots could happen at any time.
The presentation was a success, and I’m happy to have been able to help!
